CHANDLER, AZ – A golf cart driver is lucky to be safe this morning after sputtering along the Interstate 10 with no headlights early Wednesday morning. Video from Arizona Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed the golf cart slowly driving on the I-10 near Wild Horse Pass around 4 a.m. The cart had no headlights while other westbound drivers sped past. One vehicle was seen following the cart behind with its emergency lights on and soon after, a semi truck also helped box in the cart before troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety arrived. Troopers eventually stopped the cart on the side of the freeway. DPS told ABC15 the driver, their significant other and the cart were being reunited. At this time, there is no word on why the driver of the golf cart was out on the freeway. ABC15 is awaiting more details from DPS.
