The Tendring Sports Personality Awards – a partnership between Tendring District Council (TDC) and activetendring – took place at Clacton’s Princes Theatre tonight.

The awards were celebrating their 12th anniversary and there were accolades for individuals, teams, coaches and volunteers. In all, there were five categories and 11 trophies.

Kirby fencer Myles Ashforth was crowned Male Sports Personality of the Year, while the female equivalent was Clacton powerlifter Pat Tombs.

Other winners were Ronnie Hill, Ottilie Robinson-Shaw, Clacton County High School’s under-13 girls’ football team, Louise Taggart, Peter White, Tendring Technology College and Clacton County High School’s PE departments and Suzanne Warren.
