Shahzaib Hasan, the suspended opener, decided to challenge the Pakistan Cricket Board’s corruption charges on Sunday (March 19). Shahzaib stated that he would be filing a comprehensive response to the notice issued by the board.

Shahzaib, who has played three One-Day Internationals and 10 Twenty20 Internationals for Pakistan, was given a Notice of Charge for breaching the board’s anti-corruption code during the Pakistan Super League. The opener was charged under code Articles 2.1.4, 2.4.4 and 2.4.5.

As a result of the suspension, Shahzaib has been barred from partaking in all forms of cricket. “I am innocent and I have done nothing wrong. I reported the offer made to me to the Board. I will fight this case,” he noted.

The duo of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif has also decided to oppose the sanctions levied by the board under its anti-corruption code. The 27-year-old batsman Nasir Jamshed and left-arm pacer Mohammad Irfan are the other two Pakistani cricketers suspended for their code of conduct breaches in the PSL.
