The Indian Premier League governing council on Wednesday said that it was vital the Sahara Pune Warriors got a consent from all the franchises for fielding a fifth foreigner in their outfit to make amends for Yuvraj Singh's absence.
IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla said that the governing council had made sure all of Sahara's grievances were cleared. But fielding five foreigners in a game required the approval of the other teams.
"On the five foreign players issue, Sahara has to get the consent of all other franchises and that matter will be put before the working committee, which will take the final call.
"All the things which were decided with Sahara were ratified by the Governing Council," said Shukla.
The dates for IPL 6 were announced too with the tournament taking place from April 3 to May 26. But no decision had been reached on the inclusion of a tenth team.
